Originally a bath and body shop, and before that a bank, DayMatero studio transformed this contemporary two-story brick building across the street from LL Bean into a 240-seat, two-level restaurant with a children’s education center in the basement level. Obtaining historic and planning board approval, the facade was softened by a wood cantilevered deck, with a clear glass railing for people watching, new awnings, lighting and signage.
With flexibility in mind, opportunities for various dining environments exist within indoor/outdoor seating and two bars. Lighting is used to highlight and graze different materials and help create a warm tavern feeling along with the Douglas Fir ceiling and wood accent walls.
