Round Pond Crossing
Round Pond, Maine
Due to shoreland restrictions an addition to add bedrooms was not allowed above the existing cottage. DMA turned this challenge into an opportunity to create an easier and safer access to the main house by bridging the new bedroom wing into an entrance connection over the steep grade of the site.
The original form of this mid-century modern house still remains, and some aspects of the architectural period is reminiscent in the renovation and addition, but with a contemporary flair.
The home has become a welcoming family retreat.
