What started as a renovation turned into a new build after receiving shoreland zoning approval. The owners wished to maintain features of the existing cottage, but with modern amenities. The cottage-feel was important and even the concept that the cottage had been added to over time was part of the design feature. 

Wood was used throughout the interior to alleviate the cottage aesthetic. Many design elements remain from the original cottage that help maintain the essence of the family cottage such as the stone fireplace and layout features.
