Scarlet Begonias

Brunswick, Maine
Architecture: David Matero while with DayMatero studio
A longtime popular bistro in Brunswick, Scarlet Begonias jumped at the opportunity to relocate to the newly constructed Main Street Train Station in the heart of town.
To expand seating, add a bar, and improve the kitchen layout, DayMatero studio designed a backlit Douglas Fir accent wall to unite and separate the seating from the bar area.
A red polished concrete floor and accent color enhances the wood walls and table tops. The ceiling is reminiscent of the original Begonias. In a new location, this daylight-filled restaurant will continue to be THE neighborhood bistro of Brunswick.
