This 3,400 sf energy efficiant homes sits on the quiet shores of a pond in Blue Hill with views of the water and a wild meadow on the other side. The arrival through the meadow is emphasized by a front porch with natural wood accents. As guests enter they are greeted by an open staircase with views of the water.
The exterior color pallette of black and white sets the tone for the white interior. The large, triple-glazed, openings provide abondant daylight and wondierful views of wildlife. The sunshades help shade summer sun from overheating the house, espeically the sunny library off the living room and that can also be closed off with glass pocket doors.
The double-thick walls and energy efficient details provide a wonderflly comfortable home that the owners will soon be retiring to from out of state. There are battery backups generated from solar panels that will help create a more resilent coastal home.
