West Bath, Maine

Architecture: David Matero Architecture
Structural Engineering: Casco Bay Engineering
Builder: Oceanside Builders

A small cottage that had been in the family for generations in West Bath was in need of an upgrade, inside and out.

The interior bare studs created a camp feel, but did not allow for much use during the shoulder seasons in Maine. DMA was tasked with maintaining the essence of the cottage while upgrading and updating the cottage with modern amenities, insulation, and additional space.

The owner was interested in an eclectic response to the additions with texture and color changes to the facade materials. The existing porch was re-purposed into living space, and a new screen porch was added to greatly increase the amount of common space for family and friends.
