Designed to relate to an existing house on a neighboring lot owned by the sister and family, The Eyrie has a main level that is only 750 sf. The main level includes the living, kitchen, and dining room, along with a full bath and bedroom. There is a walk-out basement with a studio, bathroom, and mechanical space that creates a total of 1,500 sf.

The exterior is oriented to take advantage of incredible views of Merrymeeting Bay, while still allowing the southern exposure to warm the house. A double-stud wall, triple-glazed windows and heat pumps make for a very energy efficient home.

The cedar clad exterior will age with time and nestle into the site. The exterior landscaping is not quite completed, but the eventual plans will help ground the house.
